DJ Bettencourt Scholarship 2023

For Insurance Professionals

Future insurance students are encouraged to apply here for the D.J. Bettencourt Scholarship for Insurance Professional, where an award of $1,000 will be provided to a single student that is studying on the path to become an insurance professional. We require a short essay for entry,  and the winner is decided from the content in the submitted essay.

Scholarship Overview

Mr. Bettencourt has spent many years in the insurance industry, and now he wants the chance to give back to the next generation of insurance professionals with this scholarship award.

The D.J. Bettencourt Scholarship for Insurance Professionals announces that our fund is open for all insurance students within the United States. We will provide scholarship funding to a single deserving student that is studying to enter the field of insurance, and we aim to create awareness for the issues faced by these young students on their journeys to a career in insurance.

Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, prospective applicants must be current business undergraduates enrolled in a university located within the United States, or high school students who are soon to enroll in a university and pursue a degree in Insurance.

The selection process consists of an essay competition, with one winner being chosen based on the creativity and quality of their work.  We will select one winner based on the essays of under 1000 words answering the following:  

“The insurance industry in the United States has a lot of room for improvement.  Describe an issue concerning insurance and how you think it could be solved.”

Amount

One time award of $1,000

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is July 15, 2023.

Winner Announced

The winner for the scholarship will be announced August 15, 2023.

Applicant should email their response to the essay question “The insurance industry in the United States has a lot of room for improvement.  Describe an issue concerning insurance and how you think it could be solved.” in Word Doc format to dj@djbettencourtscholarship.com.
